Haha! Hahaha! I was ready to give up, but then I noticed I have some time to waste today and decided to take part to #LesMisClub's current contest after all! This is a bit simpler than the grand plans I had in mind, but seeing how little time I have, this is the best I can do.
Les Heureux... The Happy Ones. I've loved this idea ever since someone mentioned it the first time. I just want to see these guys happy for once!

I chose to depict an alternate universe where everybody lived. This is somewhere in the 1840's. Cosette and Marius have been married for a while, JVJ's a proud grandpa, he befriended Javert somehow along the way. Javert, stop pretending you're not interested, I'm sure you want to hear what happens next in the story JVJ's reading!
The woman is Cosette, and the kids are, of course, hers and Marius'. I don't know, though - I wanted one to be blonde because Fantine was, but can two brunettes have blonde kids? If not, imagine it's Courfeyrac's kid who's paying them a visit or whatever. As for the cats - I like to think Marius saved a basket of kittens from the river where someone had tried to drown them. Cosette was first against keeping them but couldn't fight Marius's puppydog eyes. That, or Jehan once dumped them at their doorstep because he thought they'd be a nice gift.

I like this. In my version there are also two girls, one blond and one brunette. No cats though XD

Also, I am glad there is a reason (and an excellent one) for the waistcoat, though it reminds me that I spend far too much time here- between you and Nyranor, all of these Finnish ideas and details and visuals are ingratiating themselves into my imagination of the show and characters- which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's a bit odd, especially when one has not heard any of these people's voices and does not know a single word in Finnish.

I don't know, I think he'd be a bit more careful than that- maybe he and Marius are both in on this? Anyhow, it looks like Javert is somewhat profiting from it... probably has an easier time with them than with most people. (At this point my Javert muse considers striking my shoulder, then merely lowers his eyelids and asks what I know about cats.)
How sad this fandom is, our constant desire to resurrect people... how funny or beautiful or both, the way we go about dealing with that.

And yeah... I saw someone complain about the fandom making fun of Les Mis the other day. I don't see a problem there. We couldn't do anything but cry if we didn't make fun of these guys and resurrect them every now and then!

This is amazing and awesome! Don't worry about Marius and Cosette's kid being blonde, it is possible. I should know, my Dad has black hair, my mother is light brown and then I'm gold-blonde. Genetics makes it possible, I love the idea of a mini-Fantine :)

da kittehs are cute. you said they were probobly because of marius or jean. but i think javert gave up on valjean and decided to settle down and get married. after realizing not many people like him, he just adopted a bunch of cats
