Birth of a Heroine

This is for a school assignment (yep, school has begun again and I, again, hate every minute) where we had to find a piece of art that "spoke to us" and illustrate something inspired by it.
I chose Cabanel's Birth of Venus, though one of the putti is from some other painting I can't find now. If you don't get it, don't worry - I don't understand my own idea anymore, either. I've just always found the little angels in old paintings really amusing. They should be around more nowadays.

Colouring this was a nightmare.
While I was trying to achieve that old comic book effect an effect I was so unhappy with I went with the unedited version, my Photoshop decided the 4GB of RAM on my computer, all available for its personal use, just won't do, and claimed there's not enough memory to pixelate anything. Whatever I did, it still gave me the error message. So, I had to work with a way lower resolution that what it'd required to make this look good.
I'm glad no one's home because I feel like strangling people.

ETA: Whoaa, my 300th deviation! When I registered here over five years ago, I'd never guessed I'd make it this far, and that my 300th submission would feature naked little angels.
My friend even told me she had nightmares about the babies after she saw me drawing them.
