Boudica

This is for #Xx-The-Cause-xX's contest: Depict a favorite historical figure in a specific art movement of history.

The historical figure I chose is Boudica, an uprising-againts-Rome-leading queen of the Iceni tribe from about 2000 years ago.
I wanted to paint a strong woman and Boudica came to my mind because she's featured in Civilization IV because I know lots about awesome historical ladies.

The art movement is supposed to be Romanticism.
I like Romantic paintings of historical subjects because they're often as far from reality as you can get. Some paintings depicting scenes from Finnish mythology are my favourites. Want to paint a really old man playing a traditional instrument to poor peasants? This is the way to do it!

Sadly, my painting's not quite as awesome. I don't have oils, so I had to do it with acrylics, and I didn't find a way to attach half-naked women or rainbows to this.
But anyway. Here's Boudica burning the city of Londinium, or London, to ground. Enjoy. And take part in the contest!
