I've been wanting to do something like this for ages. I present you every Enjolras I've seen live in Les Mis this year (or something that vaguely resembles them - I'm still not that good at cartoonifying real people)!
From left to right: Liam Tamne, whom I saw last summer in London. He wasn't bad, I know that much - but I'm afraid that, at least to me, he was a bit of an Umm?jolras. Nothing bad, but nothing too exciting either. The more I look at it, the more ridiculous the standard Enjy costume is starting to seem to me, by the way... Rune Sæter, Åbo Svenska Teater's ex-Enjy. Hmmm... If you're one to demand complete book-accurateness from your Enjolrati, this one might not be for you. If not, you'd have liked seeing him in the role. I did, I think he's my favourite out of the Enjolrati I've seen so far (and no, I'm not not saying that because of the last two months' events but because it's my honest opinion. Shouldn't be too surprising anyway since the ÅST cast makes up about 100% of my dream cast...)! Anders Gjønnes from the Malmö Opera production. First act, pretty uninteresting but also unannoying. Second act, suddenly insane, lots of shouting and nervous pacing around. I had a hard time believing anyone would follow this nervous wreck to their death... I like the costume though!
I think I'll do these with other characters, too. Les Mis is not mine.
Is Tamne not pale-skinned? He looks a little Mediterranean or something, in the very few pictures I've managed to find of him, and you've drawn him here a bit darker, too. Oooh, the Malmo chap's costume is utterly fantastic, you're right. I want a pair of tricolour trousers. Seriously. I'd wear them every Barricade Day.
BTW modern-day Enjy's pants... look terrific here. they just pop!
