This is for #LesMisClub's Modern Days Miz contest. Go take part, let's make this the best contest ever!

Usually I don't like time travel fics. The time period the story is originally set in is often much more interesting! But modern day Les Amis IMing has been in my mind for a year at least.
They're a bit younger here than originally - in high school, I think. I thought of giving their modern first names but decided not to so the readers won't get too confused.

A word about the posters...
I don't know who has done the manipulation behind Marius. I found it from Tumblr and think it's absolutely hilarious.
Courfeyrac wouldn't put kittens on his wall himself. That poster is a gift from a girlfriend who thought kittens remind her of him.
For whatever reason, I'm certain Joly would love comic books if he lived these days. (About the other poster... I'm afraid Don Rosa's Scrooge McDuck comics are seriously underrated in the USA. Joly, however, knows about them. They might sound childish, but no: they're often based on real historical events and Rosa researches every single thing he puts in there - and has a great sense of humour. I recommend, with passion!)

I love the poster behind Joly-I've got a volume with the McDuck family story somewhere. Had no idea that the comics were underrated in the USA, even though even here in Italy they're often considered childish.
Mmm... Enjolras doesn't look amused, uh? Poor guy, trying to lead a protest while all those lazybones are all focused on Marius' new love interest ("Repeat: no one cares about Marius's love life"). At least there's Combeferre who answers...

The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck is one of my fav books ever, and Don Rosa one of my favourite artists... Nothing childish there, if you're Finnish – here, the autograph lines whenever Rosa visits consist mostly of adults. My dad just bought himself the complete collection of Don Rosa's comics...

It's rather weird, but yeah, I've heard he and Donald Duck in general are a big thing mostly in Europe only! It's a shame.

Someday, I'd like to read Scrooge McDuck stories in English... 'Cause, you know, here we have all the names translated-like in every other country, I guess-, and a couple of the ancestors' ones are very funny, and I'd like to see what they sound like in the original language ("Count Cast Iron-Belly", for example... I don't know if it's understandable when translated, but in Italian it sounds hilarious xD)

I don't know if that's the case, though – I doubt the Enjolras we know from Victor Hugo's book would be jealous of anyone's girlfriend. The book is pretty clear on what Enjolras thinks about girls and romance, after all!
