Actually, ~Nyranor's gallery (see it for more Javert!) was my main source of inspiration it's not stealing, it's a tribute..., alongside of the ever-inspiring Finnish/Swedish production. Young Javert's hair is directly from the Finnish version.
I bet the red jacket is from ten to fifteen levels of inaccurate, but I couldn't help myself after my friend Mimmi said it should be red. Enjolras's vest is usually the only place for happy colours in Les Mis illustrations - I need more than that!

If there is one thing I hate doing, it's coming up with titles for pictures where a character stands and stares that aren't the character's name.
