Happy holidays!

Sun Dec 27, 2009, 12:54 PM
EDIT: All five features done, check them out! And since this is so much fun, I'll feature the next five new commenters, too! :D
Happy holidays - as if you haven't had a dozen of journals saying that already by now... ;P
I'll still give you, or the fastest of you, a little Christmas gift: leave a comment in this journal and I shall feature three things (and a bonus thing) from your gallery. With little explanations why I like them, of course. For the five first commenters, let's say. :)

#1 *Ananaskeksi
1. 2. 3. +
1. Because it's got beautiful colours, beautiful swan and beautifully designed mermaid.
2. Because of, again, beautiful colours. The dark clouds give a nice contrast there. And because it seems I've forgot to fave it.
3. Because their eyes look awesome. The shading is also just right, and because the little detail on Mrs. Lovett's necklace looks surprisingly good.
+ Because RENT is kind of a Christmas musical, because Angel's great and because that leather jacket is made of epic.

#2 ~VinyaYY
1. 2. 3. +
1. Because I've seen the painting live and it's even more beautiful than the photo of it. I love the dark colours of the sky. Absolutely amazing work.
2. Because I like those tattoos on these random tattooed soldiers.
3. Fanart of someone I've never heard of... But still, just look at all that detail. The pretty pink colour looks great here!
+ Because I feel a feature of VinyaYY's work can't be complete without a drawing with eyes dropping out of sockets, blood, stitches and all that... The amount of detail is something I think I'll never reach.

#3 ~Halloweenieth
1. 2. 3. +
1. Because of the bloody handprints on the dress and the wall, because of the lovely darkness filled with details to be found.
2. Because of the crazy expression, the crazy hair, the broken mirror and the border made of bats.
3. I like the design of this nice little creature. A creature that creates nightmares for you while sucking your blood away and killing you. Creepy...
+ Such a pretty fairy with a really beautiful face. And it's shiny, too! Something I really didn't see coming from this artist - and yet she still made it work so nicely!

#4 ~ladykenobi
1. 2. 3. +
1. It's a picture of a crazy-eyed red-haired can-can dancer. With striped socks. Do you need more explanation for this?
2. A really cute eskimo girl with a lovely fur coat. I don't care about the artist saying the pic is too pink, I think it's perfect!
3. Because I can't feature two pretty pin-ups without the third. Marilyn Monroe this time! I love the blonde hair and flowy dress here.
+ Because as a Burton fan I felt a need to feature Burton fanart. Good thing that it was as pretty as this one!

#5 ~Madchick6
1. 2. 3. +
1. Because of the three awesome-looking characters, the fun details and the great colouring.
2. A beautiful pastel drawing of brightly coloured sea creatures. I love the way the hair is done here!
3. Because these little paperdolls are so cute! I like their big coloured eyes. And the giant octopus is just so cool.
+ Two words: So true. And a third word... Um, expression: XD

First, thanks so much to my dad for buying me the dART sub as an early Christmas present. It's awesome. :glomp:
Second, a journal entry trying to explain why I haven't drawn anything and have been so lazy and whatnot.

I guess the major reason is school. It's not that the homework takes all my time or anything, but somehow it makes me a bit tired and uninspired. Which is another major reason, btw, unispiredness. I can spend a day drawing or playing The Sims 2 I'm always picking the later these days. I feel the ideas for some epic drawings are there, but I can't quite reach to them...

Enough complaining, though. Only four days to Christmas holiday! Maybe some rest and some Christmas food will do wonders to me and I'll be full of new energy when the 2010 begins.
And if not, well, I'll still get holiday and Christmas food.

Now I'm off to search some awesome stamps I can put in this journal. And I'm going to do features, too!

You should think I'm really doing something

Sun Aug 30, 2009, 10:28 AM
Still working on that 23 characters fanart piece of mine. 14½ characters done, 8½ to go...

I probably could've finished the whole thing today if I hadn't decided it was a good idea to
- play Civilization IV the whole afternoon (Diplomatic victory! It was the second easiest level and I was aiming to get the culture victory I've never got, though.)
- start drawing the picture ("Now I'll concentrate on this! Really!")
- draw for an hour or so (I spent the half of that trying to find a good reference pic of the white dress Kim is wearing in Edward Scissorhands. I should've just used the dvd.)
- get tired and read a bunch of very, very, very sappy Pirates of the Caribbean fics (the pairing was WillxElizabeth.)

It's the bedtime soon, now.

Would I lie to you?

Mon Jul 27, 2009, 1:55 AM
Stolen from ~ThisIsMarzy because a) it looked like fun b) there's a lot of stuff I should be doing and I'm trying to avoid all that. ;P

1. Name (a) film(s) that you have seen more than 10 times (cinema + home).
Grease. Though I first had it as a VHS that missed 15 minutes from the beginning, I still watched that a hundred times...
Corpse Bride, then, definately. When it was released as dvd I used to watch it twice a week or so.
And Sweeney Todd, I guess. Three times at the cinema, at least seven times at home.

2. Name a film that you’ve seen multiple times in the cinema.
Can I name a couple? Corpse Bride, twice. Mamma Mia!, four times. Sweeney Todd, of course. WALL·E, twice. And so on and on and on.

3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a film.
Never went to movie theater because of some actor. But once I was at ~Ananaskeksi's and we were going to watch a film and went through her dvds. I saw something with Johhny Depp in the cover.
Me: Is this good?
She: Yeah.
And we watched that one.

4. Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a film.
I wouldn't see a Paris Hilton film, but otherwise everything goes!

5. Name a film that you can and do quote from.
Blues Brothers Finnish subtitles. HEINÄSIRKAT! EI MINUN VIKANI!

6. Name a film musical that you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs.
Sweeney Todd and Mamma Mia! come to the mind first.

7. Name a film that you have been known to sing along with.
I don't sing along films. I buy the soundtrack and sing along that.

8. Name a film that you would recommend everyone see.
Blues Brothers, Big Fish and all Pixar films.

9. Name a film that you own.
The last one I bought was Rent. Great.

10. Have you ever seen a film in a drive-in? If so, what?
Never. I take a train to go to the movies.

11. Ever walked out of a film?
Never. I've walked in after the film's started, though...

12. Name a film that made you cry in the cinema.
Big Fish.

13. Popcorn?
It's okay if it's butter flavoured.

14. How often do you go to the cinema (as opposed to renting them or watching them at home)?
If there's something good going and I've got a packet of Finnkino gift tickets then all the time. If I have to pay for my tickets and there's nothing good, then hardly at all. I haven't been to cinema since June 6th, btw.

15. What’s the last film you saw in the cinema?
Coraline 3D. The animation was beautiful, but I don't think the 3D added anything much to it.

16. What’s your favourite/preferred genre of film?
Musical films!

17. What’s the first film you remember seeing in the cinema?
Babe, the brave little pig or whatever it is. I watched the back wall of the cinema about half of the time, maybe that says something about the film...

18. What film do you wish you had never seen?
Grease 2. Ugh. I've never seen such an awful sequel.

19. What is the weirdest film you enjoyed?
I can't remember watching any really weird film. Maybe some people count enjoying Sweeney Todd so much that I saw it three times in one weekend a bit weird?

20. What is the scariest film you’ve seen?
I don't like scary films at all! Titanic must be the most scary thing I've seen...

21. What is the funniest film you’ve seen?
Blues Brothers!
